erweitert sein umfangreiches Lüfter-Portfolio durch fünf Slip Stream 120 DB Modelle sowie eine PWM-Variante. Die neuen Modelle zeichnen sich besonders durch das Dual-Kugellager aus und ergänzen das aktuell verfügbare 120-Millimeter-Sortiment. Dank der beiden neuen, in Japan entwickelten Hochpräzisionskugellager, konnte die Lebensdauer der Lüfter auf ganze 350.000 Stunden (MTBF) gesteigert werden.
20.05.2015, Oststeinbek (Germany) – Japanese cooling expert Scythe expands the 120 mm case fan portfolio with the new Slip Stream 120 DB axial-fans. The new line up includes five regular models with fixed fan speed as well as one PWM-enabled model. Special highlight of the series is the Dual Ball Bearing, which has been developed in Japan, allowing an intense life span increase to 350.000 hours (MTBF).
Scythe bleibt bei den neuen Slip Stream 120 DB Modellen dem bewährten Designkonzept „kleine Nabe & große Rotorblätter“ treu. Dank dieses Konzepts wird ein größerer Strömungsquerschnitt und zugleich erhöhter Luftdurchsatz bei gleicher Drehzahl erreicht. Die Lüfter der Slip Stream 120 DB Serie sind in insgesamt sechs verschiedenen Modellvarianten erhältlich. Neben einem PWM-Modell, das mit einer Drehzahl von 300 bis 1300 U/Min arbeitet, gehören auch fünf Lüfter ohne PWM-Technologie zum Portfolio. Das langsamste Modell dreht mit maximal 500 Umdrehungen pro Minute und fördert dabei 41,62 m³/h (bzw. 24,50 CFM) bei flüsterleisen 7,5 dBA. Wer etwas mehr Luftdurchsatz benötigt, kann zu dem 800-U/Min-Modell greifen. Dieses bietet 68,24 m³/h (bzw. 40,17 CFM) und ist mit 10,7 dBA dennoch sehr leise. Für leistungshungrige Nutzer, oder diejenigen, die ihre Lüfter in Verbindung mit einer Lüftersteuerung betreiben möchten, bietet Scythe außerdem Slip Stream 120 DB Modelle mit 1.200, 1.600 und 1.900 U/Min.
Ein noch leiseres Betriebsgeräusch lässt sich durch die mitgelieferten Vibrationsdämpfer erreichen, die Lüfterschwingungen absorbieren, sodass keine störenden Vibrationen an das Gehäuse übertragen werden. Weiterhin gehören vier Befestigungsschrauben sowie der klassische 3-Pin auf 4-Pin-Molex-Adapter zum Lieferumfang.
Die langlebigen Lüfter der Slip Stream 120 DB Serie sind ab sofort im europäischen Fachhandel erhältlich. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung des Herstellers für die normalen Varianten beträgt 8,95 EUR und 11,95 EUR für die PWM-Variante.

The successful “small hub & large fan blades” concept was initially introduced with the first Slip Stream series and handed down to the Slip Stream 120 DB. Thanks to this concept, increased flow area and airflow could be achieved at the same fan speed. Slip Stream 120 DB lineup includes six different models, including a PWM-enabled version, which offers a wide fan speed range starting at 300 RPM and going up to 1.300 RPM. The regular models with fixed fan speed start with the 500-RPM model. This case fan operates at incredibly silent 7,2 dBA and assures steady airflow with 41,62 m³/h (24,50 CFM). A great combination between noise and performance is offered by the 800 RPM model, as it moves 68,24 m³/h (40,17 CFM) at really silent 10,7 dBA. Users requiring more performance or planning to use the Slip Stream 120 DB fans in combination with a fan controller are able to choose between a 1.200, 1.600 and 1.900 RPM model.
Scythe supplies four rubber vibration dampeners, to assure that the vibration from the fans are not being transferred to the chassis. In addition to that, four regular mounting screws and a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter are included in the package.
The long life Slip Stream 120 DB fans are available as of today with the MSRP of 7,50 EUR (excl. Tax/VAT) for regular models. Slip Stream 120 DB PWM can be purchased for 10,00 EUR (excl. Tax/VAT).
