Die neue Generation bietet ein komplett überarbeitetes Kühlkörperdesign mit asymmetrischem Aufbau und einer geringen Bauhöhe von nur 135 Millimetern, wodurch uneingeschränkte Kompatibilität zu allen Mainboards und Speichermodulen ermöglicht wird. Die Installation ist beim Katana 5 dank des Easy Clip Mounting System II (E.C.M.S II) Montagesystems in nur wenigen Handgriffen erledigt. Eine grundlegende Neuerung ist der brandneue Kaze Flex PWM 92 mm Lüfter, der dank des Sealed Precision Fluid Dynamic Bearing (Sealed Precision FDB) Lagers und Abstandshaltern aus Gummi angenehme Laufruhe bei langer Lebensdauer garantiert.

This new version comes with a revamped asymmetric heatsink design and total height of only 135 mm, offering unrestricted compatibility to mainboards and memory modules. The second generation of the Easy Clip Mounting System (E.C.M.S) assures a fast and easy installation process. Another key innovation of the Katana 5 is the newly developed Kaze Flex 92 PWM fan. It combines the high-quality Sealed Precision Fluid Dynamic Bearing with anti-vibration rubber spacers for silent operation and long lifespan.
Kompakter Alleskönner
Die Katana Serie von Scythe steht seit jeher für große Vielfalt bei einem niedrigen Preis. Auch der Katana 5 liefert optimale Leistung, bei kompakter Bauform mit Multi-Sockel-Montagesystem und einem konkurrenzfähigem Preis. Der für seine Klasse großflächige Tower ist asymmetrisch angeordnet und mittels drei 6-mm-Kupferheatpipes mit der massiven Kupfer-Bodenplatte verbunden. Bei der fünften Generation werden neben der Bodenplatte auch die Heatpipes komplett vernickelt, was den Katana 5 weiter aufwertet. Durch den asymmetrischen Aufbau bietet der Katana 5 ausgezeichnete Kompatibilität zu Mainboardkomponenten und Speicherriegeln.
Neuer Kaze Flex PWM 92-mm-Lüfter
Der Katana 5 ist der erste CPU-Kühler, der mit dem neuen Kaze Flex 92 mm PWM Lüfter ausgeliefert wird. Dieser nutzt ein hochwertiges Sealed Precision Fluid Dynamic Bearing (Sealed Precision FDB) Lager für leisen Betrieb und erreicht eine lange Lebensdauer von 120.000 Stunden. Übertragung von Vibrationen innerhalb des Gehäuses wird durch Abstandshalter aus Gummi, die sich in den Ecken des Lüfterrahmens befinden, verhindert. Der neue Lüfter arbeitet in einem Drehzahlbereich von 300 bis maximal 2.300 U/Mim bei einem angenehm niedrigen Schalldruckpegel von 7,3 bis 28,83 dBA. Trotz der ausgezeichneten Laufruhe bietet der Kaze Flex 92 mm PWM einen Volumenstrom von 11,46 bis 83,04 m³/h.
Multi-Sockel-Montagesystem
Eine möglichst einfache Installation stand auch bei der Entwicklung des Katana 5 im Fokus. Aus diesem Grund wird er mit den vormontierten Intel™ Push-Pin-Klemmen ausgeliefert. Dadurch kann der Katana 5 mit nur wenigen Handgriffen auf dem Mainboard befestigt werden. Auch die Installation auf AMD™ Mainboards ist genauso einfach: Dafür müssen lediglich die beiden Intel™-Klemmen gegen die AMD™-Klemmen getauscht werden. Danach kann man den Katana 5 komfortabel am Retention-Modul fixieren. Dank des Easy Clip Mounting System II (E.C.M.S II) Montagesystems unterstützt der Katana 5 die Intel™-Sockel LGA775, LGA115X und LGA1366 sowie AMD™-Sockel AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ und AM4.
Im Lieferumfang des Katana 5 befindet sich neben Montagematerial, außerdem noch Wärmeleitpaste und ein Kaze Flex 92 mm PWM Lüfter samt eines Befestigungsklemmensets.
Der Scythe Katana 5 CPU-Kühler (Modell-Nr. SCKTN-5000) ist ab sofort im europäischen Fachhandel erhältlich. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung des Herstellers beträgt 27,95 EUR (inkl. 19% MwSt.).

The Katana series ever since the initial release aimed for great versatility. Scythe underlines this further with the release of the Katana 5, which offers optimum performance at compact dimensions and an advanced multi-socket mounting system at a competitive price. The fifth generation offers even more added value by incorporating a band new asymmetric heatsink design for unrestricted compatibility to both mainboard components and memory modules. In addition to that, all three high-quality copper heatpipes as well as the massive copper-baseplate have been nickel-plated for the fifth generation. This upgrade protects the copper from corrosion and lets Katana 5 look more unified.
New Kaze Flex 92 PWM Fan
Katana 5 is the first CPU Cooler that is bundled with the new Kaze Flex 92 mm PWM fan. This new fan is equipped with Scythe’s high-quality Sealed Precision Fluid Dynamic Bearing (Sealed Precision FDB), offering more quiet running and a long life-span of 120.000 hours. Transmission of vibrations is prevented by incorporating special rubber spacers in the corners of the frame. The Kaze Flex 92 mm fan is well balanced in order to suite the high demands of the majority of users. Thanks to the PWM support, it is able to flexibly adjust the fan speed from 300 to 2.300 RPM while operating at amazingly low noise levels from 7,3 to 28,83 dBA. This exceptional quietness is achieved without compromising the airflow, as the Kaze Flex 92 PWM is delivering volumetric flow from 11,46 to 83,04 m³/h.

The package includes the Katana 5 with the mounting clips as well as thermal grease and one Kaze Flex 92 mm PWM fan with the mounting fan clips.
