08.03.2018, Oststeinbek (Deutschland) – Der japanische Kühler-Spezialist Scythe kündigt die nun fünfte Version des Ninja CPU-Kühlers an. Dieser bringt einige Neuerungen mit sich und legt dank der beiden mitgelieferten Kaze Flex 120 PWM Lüftern ein besonderes Augenmerk auf flüsterleisen Betrieb. Die Lüfter werden dabei in einem Push-/Pull-Aufbau montiert und sorgen damit trotz der geringen Lüfterdrehzahl von gerademal 800 U/Min für enorme Kühlleistung. Das Kühlkörperdesign ist für hohe Kompatibilität ausgelegt, wodurch selbst LGA 2066 Mainboards mit acht RAM-Slots unterstützt werden. Außerdem kommt beim Ninja 5 die dritte Version des Hyper Precision Mounting Systems (H.P.M.S.) zum Einsatz. Diese vereinfacht die Montage erheblich und bietet Kompatibilität zu einer Vielzahl an Sockeln der Prozessorhersteller AMD™ und Intel™.

Scythe bundles the Ninja 5 with two Kaze Flex 120 PWM fans with the goal to offer a significantly more silent solution without compromising the high performance that users expect from the Ninja Series. This goal has been achieved by mounting the two fans using the Push/Push principle and setting the fan rotation limit to only 800 rpm. Outstanding RAM compatibility is assured even when used with LGA 2066 Mainboards with 8 RAM-Slots thanks to a new heatsink optimization. In addition to that, Ninja 5 is equipped with the third generation of the Hyper Precision Mounting System (H.P.M.S.) which further simplifies the installation procedure and supports all the major AMD™ and Intel™ sockets.

Dual Fan Design mit Push/Pull-Aufbau

Anders als sein Vorgänger, kommt der neue Ninja 5 mit gleich zwei Lüftern aus der bewährten Kaze Flex 120 PWM Serie. Der Ninja 5 ist für flüsterleisen Betrieb ausgelegt, weshalb die beiden mitgelieferten Lüfter in einem Lüfterdrehzahlbereich von 300 bis maximal 800 U/min arbeiten. Dank PWM-Unterstützung kann die Drehzahl dynamisch über das Mainboard gesteuert und angepasst werden. Die Lüfter werden dabei so montiert, dass man von dem Push-/Pull-Prinzip profitiert und dadurch hohe Leistung bei geringer Geräuschkulisse erreicht.

Die qualitativ hochwertige Kaze Flex 120 PWM Serie von Scythe gewährleistet eine lange Lebensdauer von 120.000 Stunden (MTTF) und besondere Laufruhe dank des geschlossenen Flüssigkeitslagers (Sealed Precision FDB). Des Weiteren befinden sich Gummiabsorber an den Ecken des Lüfterrahmens, die die Übertragung von eventuell entstehenden Vibrationen an den Kühlkörper unterbinden. Dank dieser Kombination wird der Ninja 5 zu einem besonders leisen CPU-Kühler, der dabei auch noch mit enormer Leistung punktet.

Hohe RAM-Kompatibilität

Das Kühlkörperdesign des Ninja 5 weicht etwas vom Vorgänger ab. Die schwarz eloxierte Schicht oben ist dabei nicht die einzige optische Neuerung. Die untersten sechs Finnenschichten sind an zwei Seiten verkürzt, wodurch besonders hohe RAM-Kompatibilität sichergestellt wird ohne die Leistung zu beeinträchtigen. Somit werden RAM-Riegel mit Kühlkörpern mit einer Gesamthöhe von bis zu 55 mm unterstützt. Scythe setzt wie beim Vorgänger auf insgesamt sechs vernickelte 6-Millimeter-Kupfer-Heatpipes, die in der vernickelten Kupferbodenplatte münden.

Benutzerfreundliche Montage und hohe
Sockelkompatibilität

Bei dem Montagesystem setzt Scythe auf die dritte Version des Hyper Precision Mounting Systems (H.P.M.S), dass auf einer soliden Metall-Backplate mit vormontierten Schrauben basiert. Dabei werden Zwischenschritte, die vorher notwendig waren, komplett weggelassen. Die Backplate wird beispielsweise dank der neuen Abstandshaltern aus Plastik und Gummi mit wenigen Handgriffen mit dem Mainboard fixiert, was sich positiv auf Benutzerfreundlichkeit auswirkt. Des Weiteren ist die Montageschiene am Kühlkörper ab Werk verschraubt, was den Einbauprozess deutlich vereinfacht. Für ausgeglichene Verteilung von Gewicht und Anpressdruck sorgen die mit Federn ausgestatteten Schrauben.

Hohe Sockelkompatibilität zählt zu Scythe’s Spezialitäten und so unterstützt auch der Ninja 5 Intel™-Sockel LGA775, LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1366, LGA2011, 2011-v3, LGA2066 sowie AMD™-Sockel AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ sowie AM4. Im Lieferumfang befinden sich neben Montagematerial, auch eine Spritze Wärmeleitpaste, zwei Kaze Flex 120 PWM Lüfter samt Befestigungsklemmensets, ein Schraubendreher, eine Einbauanleitung und ein PWM-Y-Lüfterkabel.

Der Scythe Ninja 5 CPU-Kühler (Modell-Nr. SCNJ-5000) ist ab sofort im europäischen Fachhandel erhältlich. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung des Herstellers beträgt 52,95 EUR (inkl. 19% MwSt.).

Dual Fan Design with Push/Pull Setup

The new Ninja 5 is equipped with two fans of the high-quality Kaze Flex 120 PWM fan series, whereas the predecessor had only one fan. Delivering great performance at low noise levels is achieved by mounting the two fans in line, where the first one is pushing the air into the heatsink and the second one pulling it out. Both fans support the PWM function and can be controlled using the motherboard’s fan controller in the speed range from 300 to maximum 800 RPM. Thanks to this low fan speed range, virtually inaudible noise levels from 4 to 14,5 dBA are accomplished.

The Kaze Flex 120 PWM fan series features a long lifespan of 120.000 hours (MTTF) and really quiet running thanks to the high-quality Sealed Precision FDB. Shock absorbers made of rubber are located in the corners of the fans to prevent the transfer of any vibration.

Improved RAM Compatibility

The heatsink design of Ninja 5 has been tweaked in the development process. While the new all-black top fin-layer offers improved aesthetics, the shortened six fin-layers on the bottom of the stack are assuring great compatibility to RAM modules. Thanks to the gaps, which are implemented on two sides of the heatsink, Ninja 5 is able to offer outstanding compatibility to RAM modules with a total height of 55 mm. Fast heat transfer from the nickel-plated copper-base to the aluminum fins is achieved by utilizing total of 6 high quality copper Heatpipes, which are nickel plated as well.

User-friendly Mounting System

Scythe equipped the Ninja 5 with the third generation of the Hyper Precision Mounting System (H.P.M.S) which combines a solid metal-backplate with a pre-installed mounting bar. The new mounting system omits some of steps, which had to be taken with the previous systems. Special rubber/plastic spacers are used to hold the backplate in place which significantly improves the usability. Further improvement of the installation process has been achieved by pre-installing the mounting bar. Uneven pressure and weight distribution is prevented by the spring-loaded screws, which are located in the mounting bar.

The socket compatibility list features the Intel™ Sockets LGA775, LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1366, LGA2011, 2011-v3, LGA2066 and AMD™ Sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ as well as AM4. All mounting clips, one screwdriver, two Kaze Flex 120 PWM fans with clips, thermal grease, the user manual and one PWM-Y adapter are supplied with the Ninja 5 CPU Cooler.
