Zu den wichtigsten Highlights des neuen Kühlers zählt unter anderem der mitgelieferte Lüfter. Bei diesem handelt es sich um den brandneuen Scythe Glide Stream Axiallüfter.

Dem Scythe Kabuto 2 CPU-Kühler liegt die passender 120 Millimeter große Variante des Scythe Glide Stream Lüfter bei. Dieser neue Lüfter gehört zu einer Reihe von Lüftern, welche die Nachfolge der vielfach ausgezeichneten Scythe Slip Stream Serie antreten. Beim Scythe Glide Stream wurden Rotor und die Rotorblätter überarbeitet, wodurch der Luftfluss optimiert und Luftwiderstand nochmals reduziert wurde. Die Montagelöcher des Lüfters wurden außerdem mit Gummi-Pads versehen, um die Übertragung von Vibrationen an den CPU-Kühler und das PC-Gehäuse zu minimieren.
Der Scyhte Kabuto 2 misst insgesamt gerade einmal 132 x 140 x 130 Millimeter und eignet sich damit auch für kompakte PC-Gehäuse.
Die neue „Reinforcement Bar“ stärkt die Stabilität des Scythe Kabuto 2. Das damit einhergehende neue Design des Scythe Kabuto 2 sorgt durch die gleichmäßige Ausrichtung der sechs Heatpipes auch für eine verbesserte Kühlleistung. Das überarbeitete Design des Kühlers sorgt auch dafür, dass der Chipsatz, die Spannungswandler und andere Komponenten in der Nähe des CPU-Sockels automatisch mit gekühlt werden. Mit einem Gewicht von 695 Gramm sitzt der Scythe Kabuto 2 sicher und stabil auf dem CPU-Sockel und durch seine Bodenplatte aus Kupfer mit Nickellegierung wird die Abwärme des Prozessors ideal zu den sechs Kupfer-Heatpipes abgeleitet.
Darüber hinaus ist der Scythe Kabuto 2 mit dem vom Scythe Katana 4 bekannten, bei vielen Endkunden sehr geschätzten, Klemmensystem „New Generation Clip System“ (N.G.C.S) ausgerüstet, welches eine noch einfachere Montage des CPU-Kühlers ermöglicht. Die Liste der Kompatiblen CPU-Sockel erstreckt sich über alle aktuellen und einige etwas ältere Sockel.
Für Prozessoren von Intel® ist der Scythe Kabuto 2 mit den folgenden Sockeln kompatibel: LGA 2011, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA775 und LGA1366. Dank der Kompatibilität zu den Sockeln AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ und FM1 können auch AMD® Prozessoren effektiv und leise vom Scythe Kabuto 2 gekühlt werden.
Der Scythe Kabuto 2 mit der Modell-Nr. SCKBT-2000 ist ab sofort im Fachhandel erhältlich, die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung liegt bei 39,95 € (inkl. 19% MwSt.).

Scythe Kabuto 2 CPU-Cooler comes with perfectly matching Scythe Glide Stream 120 Millimeter fan. It is part of the recently announced new series of fans. Scythe Glide Stream fans are equipped with a redesigned small center hub as well as fan blades. Hence allows the reduction of air resistance and therefore achieving lower operating noise. Furthermore all mounting holes are equipped with special rubber-pads in order to reduce transfer of fan vibrations to the CPU Cooler itself or the whole PC Chassis. To fit into most of the on-market PC Chassis Scythe Kabuto 2 is being kept compact with the dimensions 132 x 140 x 130 millimeters.
New “Reinforcement Bar” assure the stability of the Scythe Kabuto 2 by connecting the coolers base with the fin structure. Similar to the first version, Kabuto 2 is able to supply additional airflow to cool the Chipset, memory, VRMs and other components which are located around the CPU Socket. Furthermore no compromise in quality has been made, providing a nickel-plated all-copper base plate and a total of six copper-heatpipes to assure efficient heat transfer to the aluminum fins.
In addition, the Scythe Kabuto 2 is equipped with the “New Generation Clip System” (N.G.C.S.) which was introduced with the Scythe Katana 4 and was praised by many users. N.G.C.S. makes the installation procedure easier and faster, yet not compromising stability and safety aspects.
List of compatible CPU Sockets features many current and a few older sockets, from both AMD® and Intel®. It includes the Intel® Sockets LGA 2011, LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA775 and LGA1366 as well as the AMD® Sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1.
